One Arrested, One Flees During Pursuit In Jennings Co.

Two stolen truck were located

At approximately 4:30 PM Deputy Minton observed a 1987 primer gray Dodge Dakota disregard the stop sign at CR 300 N and SR 7 N. Deputy Minton initiated a traffic stop, but the vehicle did not stop.

A pursuit had begun. There were two occupants in the vehicle.

The pursuit continued for several miles at speeds over 70 MPH. The pursuit went into a soybean and corn field on CR 500 N, west of SR 3 N, doing thousands of dollars of damage to the crops.

The truck stopped in a partially wooded area where a male and female ran on foot. The female passenger was caught. She was Myriah Sheppard, age 30 from Indianapolis. The male driver at the time of the release was not located.

There is a person of interest known, but the investigation is still underway.


During this ordeal, Deputy Maberry, was setting a perimeter for the suspect. At that time he located two trucks (a white Chevy and blue Ford truck) in tall grassy waterway about 100 yards way from the end of the pursuit. Both were stuck.

During the investigation it was determined that the trucks were both stolen from the northwestern part of Jennings County on 6/3/18.


Charges on Myriah Sheppard:
• Auto Theft
• Resisting Law Enforcement 
• False Informing
• Criminal Mischief
Bond is $1055
