State Police Post 5 Arrest Subject after Pursuit Through Multiple Counties

CAMPBELLSBURG, Ky. (03/15/2023) – On Wednesday March 15, 2023 at approximately 3:29 am Kentucky State Police Post 5 received information from Kenton County dispatch in reference to a vehicle that was stolen at gunpoint.  They advised the vehicle had been tracked to a location in Carrollton in Carroll County.  Further information provided included that a white SUV left the area with the stolen vehicle.

KSP Post 5 dispatched a trooper to the location to attempt to locate the vehicle and also notified Carroll County dispatch. 

A Carroll County Deputy located the vehicle.  A Carrollton Police Officer was responding to the location to assist the deputy with emergency equipment activated when a silver BMW failed to yield and instead fled at a high rate of speed. 

The vehicle entered Interstate 71 traveling south.  A KSP Post 5 trooper located the fleeing vehicle near the 34 mile marker.  The trooper activated his emergency equipment and attempted to stop the vehicle initially for speeding and no registration.  The silver BMW again failed to yield and continued to flee. 

The vehicle exited KSP Post 5 and entered KSP Post 4 on Interstate 71.  The BMW continued traveling until striking a vehicle in the side while sitting at a red stop light near the Interstate 264 and US 42 intersection.  The BMW lost control and struck another vehicle.  The drivers of both of these vehicles were transported for medical treatment. 

The driver of the BMW was apprehended and identified as a juvenile female of Louisville. The ongoing pursuit investigation is being conducted by Kentucky State Police Post 5.  The ongoing collision investigation is being conducted by Kentucky State Police Post 4.
