Items Recovered
(Jennings Co Jail)
On August 17, 2021 at approximately 7:54 p.m., Sgt. Doug Brown and Deputy Thomas Mellencamp responded St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in reference to a man that had been burned. Deputies learned that the victim had been severely burned with a blow torch and had several items taken from him during the incident. Deputies were able to identify the suspect as James Robbins, age 27, of North Vernon.
Information was gathered at the hospital that led Deputies to apply for and be granted a Jennings County Circuit Court Search Warrant for a residence in Country Squire Lakes. Deputies served the Search Warrant and located items belonging to the victim, Methamphetamine, Syringes, Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia. James Robbins was taken into custody without incident and was transported to the Jennings County Jail where he is currently being held on a $10,055.00 bond on the following charges:
Robbery- Level 2 Felony
Battery with Serious Bodily Injury- Level 5 Felony
Possession of Methamphetamine- Level 6 Felony
Possession of Syringe- Level 6 Felony
Maintaining a Common Nuisance- Level 6 Felony
Possession of Marijuana- A Misdemeanor
Possession of Paraphernalia-C Misdemeanor
