BIDS HIGHER PROJECT THEN EXPECTED
THE BIDS FOR THE NEW JEFFERSON COUNTY SHERIFF AND JUSTICE CENTER WILL BE RUNNING HIGHER THEN EXPECTED, THE BUILDING CORPORATION AMENDED THE ORIGINAL BOND FROM $ 42 MILLION INCREASING THE BOND TO $ 45 MILLION.
THIS MEANS THE COUNTY WILL PAY SLIGHTY MORE THE PROJECT, BUT THE COUNTY IS FORTUNATE THE INTEREST RATE IS STAYING THE SAME.
THE COMMISSIONERS APPROVED LETTERS OF INTENT TO 4 CONTRACTORS WHO SUBMITTED LOW BIDS FOR THE PROJECT, THESE OFFERS ON CONTINGENT ON THE SALE OF THE BONDS.
BIDS FOR PROJECT WERE SUBMITTED BY EH CONSTRUCTION OF SHEPHERDSVILLE, KY AT $28,522,000 FOR GENERAL TRADES AND SITE WORK, HUSSUNG MECHANICAL OF LOUISVILLE FOR MECHANICAL PACKAGE AT $7,337,000, LINK ELECTRIC COMPANY OF LOUISVILLE FOR ELECTRICAL AT $5,281,000 AND C&T DESIGN AND EQUIPMENT COMPANY OF INDIANAPOLIS FOR FOOD SERVICE PACKAGE AT $462,257.
RICK SAULEY OF RLS INSURANCE TWO BIDS FOR BUILDERS RISK INSURANCE, THE LOWEST BID WITH PREMIUM OF $53,620 TO PROVIDE $35 MILLION IN COVERAGE WAS ACCEPTED. THE OTHER BID WAS FOR A PREMIUM OF $78,400 AND $35.6 MILLION OF COVERAGE WAS REJECTED BY THE COMMISSIONERS.
