NEW ALBANY, INDIANA  – The McDonald’s restaurant on Charlestown Road in New Albany, Indiana, is partnering with the Louisville Metro Police Foundation and the Orange County Sheriff’s office to host a fundraiser for Orange County Sheriff’s Deputy Zac Andry and his family. The fundraiser will be held from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 6, at the McDonald’s restaurant located at 2621 Charlestown Road. Fifty percent of mobile orders and pay sales will go to the deputy’s family through the Louisville Metro Police Foundation. Donations can also be made through the foundation’s online fund for Deputy Andry and his family.

“From the moment we heard about Deputy Andry’s hospitalization, we couldn’t just stand by; we wanted to help in some way – in any way,” said New Albany McDonald’s Owner/Operator Sean Bauer. “We have a tight-knit community and we all support each other. This is just one way for us to give back and help a member of our community who stands to protect us every single day and night. Deputy Andry is there for us when we need help. Now, it’s our turn to help him, his wife and their three children.”

Andry, a French Lick native who has been with the Orange County Sheriff's Department for nearly four years, is being treated at a Louisville hospital after being shot several times while checking a stalled car during his routine shift on Jan. 3 near West Baden Springs, Indiana. He is one of 10 deputies who patrol the entire county.

“On behalf of the entire Orange County Sheriff’s office, our hearts and prayers go out to Deputy Andry and his family,” said Orange County Sheriff David Henderson. “The entire community has banded together to pray for his recovery and support his family during this unfathomable time. We want to thank New Albany McDonald’s Owner/Operator Sean Bauer and the Louisville Metro Police Foundation for coming to us to help support a brave young officer in the community who is now fighting for his life. When it comes to helping our people, that is what we do.”

“The Louisville Metro Police Foundation offers our prayers to lift up Deputy Andry, his family and the Orange County Sheriff’s office during this difficult time,” said Louisville Metro Police Foundation Executive Director Rebecca Grignon-Reker. “This community fundraiser will help provide the Andry family with some financial support as they continue to endure a long road ahead.”
