(Madison, Ind.) – The City of Madison Police Department announced with great sadness the passing of Animal Control Officer Gene Copeland, on November 29.
Copeland began his career with the City of Madison in 2013, where he served as a very dedicated employee.
“Gene was not only a colleague, he was a dear friend, always there for anyone in their time of need. Gene cared deeply about his profession, which was obvious by the way he took care of the animals. Officers of the Madison Police Department will deeply miss Gene, but are certainly better people for having known him,” stated Madison Police Chief John Wallace.
Friends may visit Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.
