(Indianapolis Ind.) - Local high school students were recently welcomed to the statehouse where they serve as pages during the 2020 legislative session.
Madison Consolidated High School’s Eric Shelton was one of the nine students that was in attendance for the program.
Through the Indiana House Page Program, the students toured offices of all branches of government in the Statehouse, helped staff with daily responsibilities and even joined State Rep. Randy Frye on the House floor to witness the legislative process.
Frye said, “Being able to meet legislators and witness the lawmaking process are some of the amazing parts of the page program. The pages from our district have been fantastic and they are always a highlight of each legislative session. I hope these students learned something on their visit, will come back next year and bring some of their friends along to enjoy the experience.”
Frye also states that while this session’s page program has concluded, students between the ages of 13 and 18 should consider participating in the 2021 program.
If you would like more information on the page program you can visit the website of the program or you can call 1-800-382-9841.
