Mayor Bob Courtney Announces Exciting Opportunity for Children Attending the Crystal Beach Aquatic Park Ribbon Cutting and Open House

Two children will have the exclusive chance to take the inaugural plunge

Madison, Indiana (May 16, 2024) Madison's Mayor Bob Courtney is excited to announce an opportunity for two lucky children of Jefferson County to be the first to experience the adrenaline rush of the brand-new slides at Crystal Beach Aquatic Park! As part of the festivities during the Crystal Beach Ribbon Cutting and Open House, two children will have the exclusive chance to take the inaugural plunge down these exhilarating slides that evening.

"The Crystal Beach Ribbon-Cutting and Open House promises to be an evening filled with excitement and celebration for the entire community! Please join us for this special occasion as we celebrate the preservation and opening of our beloved community pool," said Mayor Courtney.

The drawing will be held during the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Mayor Courtney will randomly select two children's names who meet the 48-inch-tall state requirement to be eligible to use the slide. At that time, the children will be escorted to the top of the slides, where they will be the first to experience the thrills of the brand-new slides.

The Ribbon-Cutting and Open House will be held on May 22, 2024, from 5 to 7 PM. The evening will begin with a special performance by the Madison Cubs Band. Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, guided tours of our newly renovated facility will be offered, and a sample menu of the summer concessions will be available.

Please note that while we're excited to showcase our revitalized aquatic park, swimming will not be available during this event. However, mark your calendars for Sunday, May 26, at noon, when Crystal Beach Aquatic Park will officially open its doors for swimming.
