Main Street Paving Phase 2 Starts Today

Today starts the Second Phase of the Main Street Paving Project in Downtown Madison. Below is a list of what areas will be affected over the next week and half along with pictures of the affected areas.

Monday Aug 30 :

Jefferson to Broadway - West Bound Lanes and Parking Stalls  Red Shaded Area on this (map).

Tuesday Aug 31 :

Broadway to Plum - West Bound Lanes and Parking Stalls Green Shaded Area On this (map)

Wednesday September 1 :

Plum to Railroad Bridge - West Bound Lanes and Parking Stalls Blue Shaded Area on this (map)

Thursday September 2

Railroad Bridge to Madison Hill Bridge - West Bound Lanes and Parking Stalls Yellow Shaded Area on this (map)

Friday September 3

There will be lane closures during the project. Traffic will be allowed during the project: however, traffic will be re-routed according to the daily Cracksealing and Liquid Road surfacing schedule. Click on the daily schedule maps above to see the work areas for each day.

Signs will be posted. Traffic Control will be provided. Please obey flaggers if present. DO NOT park in the work zone. Directional signs and NO PARKING signs will be posted.

Surfacing is weather-dependent. Rain will alter the schedule. If the areas to be cracksealed/surfaced are rained out, it will be scheduled for the next day . The entire schedule will be pushed back according to the weather.

Liquid ROAD Ultrablend is an applied liquid. It is a two coat system . Crews will apply the first coat in the morning starting at 7 A.M then apply the second coat as quickly as drying time allows.

DO NOT drive through wet surfacing. This is what happens. Driving through or walking on wet Liquid Road will track and splash on cars
