Overnight our district received an email threat regarding a potential bomb placed in a school.  While this email went to superintendents in 35 other school districts throughout the state, no one district or building was identified.

Out of an abundance of caution based on the content of the information in this email, MCS will operate on a virtual synchronous learning day today, Friday, April 14, 2023.  High school students who attend Ivy Tech Classes will attend as scheduled but will need to provide their own transportation to the Ivy Tech campus.

All MCS buildings will be closed, there will be no transportation.  No one is to report to any building.  Virtual Synchronous Learning schedules have been included in this email. Students, please reach out to your teachers if you have any questions.  Staff, please communicate with your direct supervisor with any questions.

We will keep you posted as we learn more from law enforcement and fire personnel.  It is our hope that by noon, we will be able to send out an update on the status of evening events planned on our campuses for tonight.

We appreciate your patience and support and we continue to work through this situation.
