Noel has been hired on an Interim basis
At a special board meeting on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, the Madison Consolidated School Board of School Trustees approved a consulting agreement with Daniel A. Noel to serve as interim superintendent. “Mr. Noel has a vast amount of experience in school administration,” stated Mr. David Storie, MCS Board President. “We are grateful for the opportunity to work with him as we begin the search for our next superintendent.” Noel comes from a very diverse background having served in many different capacities in different schools and different states. “I am very thankful for this opportunity and look forward to working with the staff to finish the school year,” Noel commented. “My wife, Miss Karen, and I look forward to being involved with the school and community for as long as we are needed in Madison.” Noel brings experience as a superintendent, high school and middle school principal, athletic director, and coach. Most recently Noel was a Business Development Director with JMI Mechanical Services, Inc. “A school district is a vital component of any community and I hope my experience both in education and the business sector will provide me with a unique set of resources to help move the district forward while the search begins for the next superintendent,” Noel stated. No stranger to the area, Noel served as principal at Switzerland County High School between 2009 and 2012. In 2012, he served as the interim superintendent for the district before taking the superintendent position at North Putnam Community School Corporation in 2018. “I was familiar with the area and Madison specifically,” he continued. “When the opportunity presented itself, I felt it may be a good fit. The district has a number of excellent things to offer and lots of opportunities for students.” The Noel’s, residents of Coatesville, Indiana, plan to relocate temporarily to the area while he works in the district. “Miss Karen and I look forward to meeting members of the community, getting to the end of school programs and athletic events, and seeing the senior class through graduation!” Noel holds an Associate of Arts degree from Mount Vernon Nazarene College, a Bachelor of Science degree from Olivet Nazarene University, a Master's Degree in Educational Administration, and an Educational Specialist degree both from Indiana State University. The Board of School Trustees is working with the Indiana School Board Association which will serve as the liaison between the district and candidates as the application process opens. “More information on the timing, process, and how the community will be involved will be shared once the planning process concludes,” shared Storie.
