Madison Police Busy Couple Days

September 28, 2021, in the Taco Bell Parking Lot, Madison Police Sr. Patrolman Aaron Watson arrested Jerry L. Bennett 56, Deputy, Indiana, on a warrant for probation violation.  The Jefferson County, Indiana, warrant was for prior charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia.  The subsequent search of Bennett's person and vehicle, following his arrest, found him to be in possession of methamphetamine L-6 felony and possession of paraphernalia class "A" misdemeanor.  Officer Watson was assisted by Officers Curtis Shelpman and Josh Nolan. Bennett has the presumption of innocence until otherwise proven guilty.

September 29, 2021, Madison Police Officers responded to the Circle "K" 115 Clifty Drive, for a report of an intoxicated person.   Madison Police Patrolman Curtis Shelpman arrested Trey A. Wingham 28, Madison, Indiana, for public intoxication class "B" misdemeanor. .  The subsequent search of Wingham's person found him to be in possession of methamphetamine L-6 felony and possession of a syringe L-6 felony.  Officers Season Jackson, Josh Nolan and Aaron Watson assisted Shelpman with the arrest.  Wingham has the presumption of innocence until otherwise proven guilty. 

September 29, 2021, Madison Police arrested Casey W. Jones 33, Madison, Indiana, for theft of a vehicle L-6 felony and possession of methamphetamine L-6 felony.  At 3:33 AM Madison Police responded to the Mulberry Street Parking Lot @ Second Street reference a stolen vehicle.  The reporting party advised her Oldsmobile passenger car was missing from the parking lot.  At approximately 4:38 AM Patrolman Josh Nolan was in the 1200 block of W. Main Street where he observed a vehicle East bound on Main Street fitting the description of the stolen vehicle.  The vehicle pulled into the parking lot of the Madison Iron Works where Officer Nolan approached the vehicle and identified the driver as Casey Jones. After confirming the vehicle was indeed the one stolen earlier in the morning, Officer Nolan took Jones into custody.  The subsequent search of Jones' person, and the stolen vehicle in which he was operating, found him to be in possession of methamphetamine.  Jones has the presumption of innocence until  otherwise proven guilty.  Officer Nolan was assisted by Officers Curtis Shelpman and Season Jackson.
