Madison Police arrested four over the weekend

June 25, 2021, Madison Police arrested Steven J. Adams 29, Madison, Indiana, on a level 2 felony for Manufacturing / Dealing methamphetamine.  Adams was taken into custody after Madison Police responded to Doctor Kennedy's Dental Office on Clifty Hollow Lane regarding a reported burglary in progress.  Upon arrival, officers located Adams standing on the deck in the rear of the building.  An open air sniff of Adams' backpack was conducted by K-9 "Colt".  The K-9 gave his handler, Patrolman Brian Ashcraft, a positive indicjation for the presence of narcotics.  During the subsequent search, Officers found approximately ten grams of methamphetamine.  Adams was taken into custody and faces Level two felony charges.  No signs of an attempted break-in were found, however it's believed Adams was trying to open the door by turning the door handle.  

Ashcraft was assisted by MPD Officers Watterson, Guzman, Wallace, Cutshaw, Harris and Deputy Fry.  Steven J. Adams has the presumption of innocence until otherwise proven guilty.

June 25, 2021, Madison Police arrested Mark L. Taylor 43, Madison, Indiana, on Level 6 felony charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a syringe, maintaining a common nuisance and a class C misdemeanor for possession of paraphanailia.  Taylor's arrest came after he was stopped for operating a vehicle without a valid drivers license.  K-9 Officer Brian Ashcraft and his partner Colt were summoned to the traffic stop.  Colt conducted an open air sniff of Taylor's vehicle and gave a positive indication for the presence of narcotics.  During the subsequent search, officers located methamphetamine in Taylor's vehicle.  In addition to the narcotics, officers found evidence that indicated Taylor is a drug distributor.  As a result of the evidence found in Taylor's vehicle, officers sought and obtained a search warrant for Taylor's Walnut Street residence.  As a result of the executed search warrant, officers found additional narcotics in Taylor's residence along with other items associated with the use of drugs.  An occupant of the Walnut Street residence, Christopher L. Sharp 42, was present when the search warrant was executed and was also arrested.  Sharp faces preliminary alleged charges of  Level 6 felony possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphanailia, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of a syringe and a class C misdemeanor for possession of paraphanailia.   Patrolman Cameron Blankenship led the investigation with the assistance of MPD Officers Cutshaw, Watson, Ashcraft, Colt, Smith Nicholson and Midgett.  Both Mark L. Taylor and Christopher L. Sharp has the presumption of innocence until otherwise proven guilty.

June 28, 2021, Madison Police arrested Angela M. Clark 46, Lexington, Kentucky, for Level 6 possession of heroin, identity deception and possession of a syringe.  Clark was also wanted out of the State of Kentucky for a parole violation warrant. Clark was taken into custody by Patrolman Jordan Perry after he executed a traffic stop.  Officer's located heroin in Clark's vehicle as the result of the vehicle inventory.  The aforementioned syringe was also located in the vehicle.  Officer Perry was assisted by MPD Officers Shelpman and Mundt.  Angela Perry has the presumption of innocence until otherwise proven guilty.
