Madison Police Arrest Two Following Traffic Stop

Numerous Drugs were found

                                     

April 9, 2022, Madison Police arrested two on narcotic related charges.  Patrol / K-9 Officer Trent Smith executed a traffic stop at the North entrance of Clifty Falls State Park.  Officer Smith's K-9 partner "Colt" was deployed to conduct an open air sniff of a vehicle in which officers believed to be involved in narcotic activity.  "Colt '' gave his handler a positive indication for the presence of narcotics.  

With probable cause established, a search of the vehicle was conducted by Officers Smith, Sr. Patrolman Chad Wehner, and Patrolman Kyle Potter. Officers located methamphetamine, marijuana and paraphernalia associated with the use of drugs. 

Arrested was Cynthia R. Cox 28, Versailles, Indiana, and Calvin R. Carel 50, Hanover, Indiana.  Both face Level 6 felony charges for possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor charges for possession of paraphernalia.
