Madison Police Arrest Six on narcotic related charges

Arrested took place over a two day period

                                     

October 15, 2023, Madison Police arrested Joshua A. Martin 30, Milton, Kentucky, for possession of methamphetamine L-6 felony and for possession of a legend drug L-6 felony.  Martin was taken into custody following a traffic stop conducted by Officer Curtis Shelpman for an equipment violation.  Deputy Logan Gray and his K-9 partner Lykin assisted.  The K-9 conducted an open-air sniff around the vehicle, giving his handler a positive indication for the presence of narcotics.  The subsequent probable cause search led to the discovery of the narcotics.  Martin has the presumption of innocence until otherwise proven guilty. 

 

October 16, 2023, Madison Police arrested Ruth J. Turner 53, Deputy, Indiana, and Brandon W. Dean 32, Marysville, Indiana, on narcotic related charges, following a traffic stop.  Officer Curtis Shelpman executed the stop on a vehicle driven by Turner, near the intersection of East Street and Second Street, for an equipment violation.  Deputy Logan Gray and his K-9 partner Lykin assisted.  The K-9 conducted an open-air sniff around the vehicle and gave his handler a positive indication for the presence of narcotics.  The subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of narcotics and items associated with its use.  Ruth J. Turner faces preliminary alleged charges of possession of methamphetamine L-6 felony, possession of a legend drug L-6 felony, possession of a syringe L-6 felony and possession of paraphernalia C-misdemeanor.  Brandon W. Dean faces preliminary alleged charges of obstruction of justice (attempted to conceal narcotics during the investigation) L-6 felony, possession of a syringe L-6 felony, possession of a legend drug L-6 felony & possession of paraphernalia C-misdemeanor.  All charges are alleged and both Turner and Dean have the presumption of innocence until otherwise proven guilty. 

 

October 16, 2023, Madison Police arrested Meleta G. Lester 47, Canaan, Indiana, for possession of marijuana C-misdemeanor, possession of a legend drug L-6 felony, and possession of paraphernalia C-misdemeanor.  Lester was taken into custody following a traffic stop at Main & Walnut Street for an expired license plate.  Officers noted the odor of marijuana emitting from Lester’s vehicle.  During the probable cause search, narcotics were located.  Lester has the presumption of innocence until otherwise proven guilty.  Madison Officer Aaron Watson Jr. led he investigation.  Officer Curtis Shelpman assisted.

 

October 16, 2023, Madsion Police arrested Tony Youngblood 55, Vevay, Indiana and Anthony S. Jaynes 52, Madison, Indiana.  Youngblood was taken into custody for criminal trespass A-misdemeanor, and for an active criminal arrest warrant out of Switzerland, County, Indiana.  Jaynes faces preliminary alleged charges of possession of methamphetamine L-6 felony criminal trespass A-misdemeanor, resisting law enforcement A-misdemeanor, & possession of paraphernalia C-misdemeanor.  Both were observed in the 170 block of aft Drive by Officer Phillip Wimpee. With prior knowledge of their trespassed status from the complex, Officer Wimpee attempted to investigate the matter further.  Jaynes resisted the officer, by attempting to flee, however was successfully taken into custody. The subsequent investigation led to the discovery of the narcotics in Jaynes’ possession.  Both Tony Youngblood and Anthony Jaynes have the presumption of innocence until otherwise proven guilty.
