Friday Morning , @ approximately 9:20 AM, Madison Police arrested Henry M. Harvey 57, Edmonton Kentucky, for attempted child solicitation.
During the summer of 2021, the Madison Police Department engaged in an operation dubbed "Predator Net". The successful program led to the arrest of twenty-two males who were attempting to solicit sex, with what they thought to be, a fourteen year old female. To date, over half have been convicted of their crime.
As a result of the program, Madison Police became partners with the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) organization. ICAC is a joint Federal / State task force that investigates internet crimes against children. This very successful program opens up more intelligence avenue's for local law enforcement agencies, and provides a tremendous amount of investigative support. The Madison Police Department is proud to be part of such an outstanding program.
February 17, 2022, Madison Police Detective's Ricky Harris and Kyle Cutshaw were participating in a ICAC training course. As part of the program, Detective Harris was monitoring social media for potential sexual predators. The accused, Henry Harvey, freely joined into a conversation with, what he thought to be, a thirteen year old girl. Explicit sexual desires were sent to Detective Harris, by Harvey, and a contact point for Friday February 18, 2022, was established.
February 18, 2022, Henry Harvey showed up as promised, in the area of the Jefferson Plaza. Uniformed Officers Zack Nicholson and Jared Sweet apprehended Harvey without incident. The subsequent search of Harvey's vehicle, found him to be in possession of a handgun.
Harvey faces preliminary alleged charges of - ATTEMPTED CHILD SOLICITATION "LEVEL 4 FELONY" and ATTEMPTED SEXUAL MISCONDUCTED WITH A MINOR "LEVEL 4 FELONY".
Madison Police Detective Jeremey Perkins led the investigation. Detective Perkins was assisted by Chief John Wallace, along with Madison School Resource Officers Tim Armstrong and Yancy Denning. Harvey has the presumption of innocence until otherwise proven guilty.
