TRAFFIC STOP LED TO DRUG ARREST
                                    
January 28, 2022, Madison Police Patrolman Cameron Blankenship executed a traffic stop near the intersection of Clifty Drive and Lanier Driver. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Justin W. Blair 40, Edinburgh, Indiana. The vehicle was observed speeding by Blankenship, and displayed a false / fictitious license plate.
Patrolman Trent Smith and his K-9 partner "Colt" responded to the scene of the stop. "Colt' conducted an open air sniff of the vehicle, and gave his handler a positive indication for the presence of narcotics.
Patrolman Smith and Chief John Wallace searched the vehicle, the subsequent search led to the discovery of narcotics in Blair's vehicle.
Justin Blair was taken into custody without incident. Blair faces preliminary alleged charges of possession of methamphetamine L-5 felony, possession of scheduled drug L-6 felony, and conspiracy to deal L-4 felony. Patrolman Cameron Blankenship is leading the investigation .
Justin Blair has the presumption of innocence until otherwise proven guilty.
