Madison, Indiana (October 9, 2024) – Madison Parks and Recreation is excited to announce the launch of a new Adult Wellness Program starting in November 2024. This comprehensive program is designed to help the community achieve better health and fitness, with a variety of classes and activities for all fitness levels.

The Adult Wellness Program will offer Pilates, Functional Strength Training, Low-Intense Aerobics, and Tai Chi classes, with options for all skill levels. The program will feature both low-impact, beginner-friendly classes; designed to support older adults or those with limited mobility, and more challenging classes aimed at active, fit participants.

In addition to fitness classes, the program will offer monthly workshops focusing on nutrition, goal setting, cooking demonstrations, and other topics. Guest instructors will join the program, starting in January, allowing participants to explore new fitness routines. There will also be walking and running groups, with organized training plans for those looking to participate in local races.

"The Madison Parks and Recreation team is actively developing new and innovative ideas to keep Madison on the move!" said Whitney Burdzilauskas, Madison Parks and Recreation Athletic Program Manager. "I am fortunate to have a background in fitness, coaching, and personal training, and I look forward to sharing my experience and knowledge with our local community. The new program will utilize both land and water, taking advantage of many park facilities. These initial ideas are just the beginning of Madison's long-term health and wellness goals."

Classes are available on a drop-in basis for $5 per session, with discounted packages for 10 or 20 classes, and a yearly pass that includes water aerobics programming. The schedule for classes will be available in a monthly calendar that will be posted on the Madison Parks and Recreation website and social media and distributed at Brown Gym, the Senior Center, and City Hall.
