(Madison, IN) - Aviation enthusiasts the Madison Municipal Airport Air Show will be on September 28. The historic aircraft—Fairchild C-123K Provider, affectionately known as "Thunder Pig".

This warbird is the last of its kind still flying. It served as a short-range assault transport during the Vietnam War, airlifting troops and cargo to remote and rugged airstrips.

Thunder Pig features a rare combination of engines. Two Pratt & Whitney R-2800 "Double Wasp" radial engines and two GE J85-GE-17 turbojets. This makes it a unique powerhouse.

Built between 1949-1970 by Chase and Fairchild Aircraft. Thunder Pig is housed at the Air Heritage Aviation Museum, Beaver County Airport, PA.
