Investigation took place last spring and summer
Jefferson County, Indiana (May 10, 2024) - A Madison man was sentenced to 35 years by Jefferson County Circuit Court Judge D.J. Mote after entering a guilty plea last month on felony drug and burglary charges.
Jordan R. Chandler, 29, will serve an executed 25 years in the Indiana Department of Corrections followed by 5 years on community corrections and 5 years on supervised probation.
Prosecutor David R. Sutter stated: “These were all serious crimes. Mr. Chandler clearly demonstrated he has little regard for others or for law and order.”
Chandler entered a guilty plea to the following:
–Dealing in methamphetamine, Level 2 felony; sentenced to 20 years at the IDOC with 10 executed followed by five years community corrections and five years suspended,
–Dealing in cocaine or a narcotic drug, Level 4 felony; 10 years at the IDOC, fully executed, and
–Burglary, Level 5 felony; five years at the IDOC, fully executed.
Sutter said the crimes Chandler committed were resolved due to solid police work and cooperation between the involved agencies.
The investigations into Chandler took place over the spring and summer months last year.
“I am grateful for the work of Detective Yancy Denning with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and Detective Kyle Cutshaw with the City of Madison Police Department,” he said. “Both detectives worked many hours to solve these crimes and enabled our office to hold Mr. Chandler accountable. I appreciate the willingness of our police agencies to share information and collaborate.”
