Madison Man Dies in Single Vehicle Crash

Crash remains under investigation

                                            

On Sunday 02-16-2025, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies along with Madison City Police responded to a report of a single vehicle crash.

Jefferson County Central Dispatch, received the 911 call at approximately 07:41P.M. Officers along with Firefighters and Emergency Medical Services arrived on scene at approximately 07:46 P.M.

It was later determined the vehicle was traveling Southbound in the 3700 Block of State Road 7. The vehicle left the traveled portion of the roadway, before it rolled over and collided with a utility pole.

Emergency personnel on scene attempted to provide medical care to the driver. However, the driver later identified as Gregory R. Thomas 55, of Madison was pronounced dead on the scene.

Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Ben Flint and Detective Sergeant Yancy Denning conducted the crash investigation.

Assisting agencies: City of Madison Police, City of Madison Fire Department, Madison Township Fire Department, Rykers Ridge Fire Department, Norton’s Kings Daughters Hospital EMS, Jefferson County Coroner Office, and Duke Energy.
