Madison man arrested on auto theft, drug charges

Subject tied to an additional vehicle breaking and entering

On December 31st, 2019 at approximately 3:30pm central dispatch received a phone call from a person who spotted a vehicle that was recently stolen from the hilltop area. An Indiana conservation officer and MPD detectives located the vehicle and conducted a stop.

Daniel Joseph Cutter, 26, of Madison was arrested for auto theft and possession of marijuana. After detectives processed the vehicle, Cutter was tied to an additional vehicle breaking and entering.

Daniel Cutter was listed as a suspect in two other recent stolen vehicle cases in Madison. Following an interview with MPD detectives, additional information is being forwarded to the prosecutors office and Cutter is expected to face additional charges of auto theft.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
