Registration information on 5K Sprint/Walk/Run
I may only be a 4-month-old PUPPY, but I already know to walk nicely on leash and to sit on command.
At the shelter, I let them know when I need to go out to do my business.
I'm a smart girl, very eager to please, and am a fast learner.
I'll be everything you want in a puppy.
I enjoy playtime and I enjoy snuggle time.
I'm a friendly and outgoing 30 lbs. girl who will be a big dog when I grow up.
They're guessing that I'm a Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull Terrier mix.
I'm mostly black with some white sprinkled strategically.
I'm a sweet girl with a beautiful pastel coat.
I really enjoy being loved on!
However, I don't like to be picked up or carried.
So, just let me come to you when it's time to snuggle.
It appears I may have been an only pet previously and will need some time to adjust to your other pets.
I learned by necessity here at the shelter that other pets aren't so bad to have around.
A home with young children is not ideal for me since I don't like to be picked up.
I'm a 2- to 3-year-old, muted Tortoiseshell who weighs 6 lbs.
I'm $45 OFF my adoption and spay fee courtesy of the shelter and the Jefferson County Humane Society.
The Spring Sprint is Saturday, April 20 with an 8 a.m. 5K jaunt through Miles Ridge.
Participants' dogs are allowed to join in the fun with proof of rabies vaccination.
Register by March 30 for $20 and a race t-shirt is guaranteed.
Registrations after March 30 are $25 with no guarantee of a t-shirt.
Registration forms are available at the shelter or on the JCAS Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/Jefferson-County-Animal-Shelter-Madison-Indiana-360696517383/
All proceeds go to the shelter building fund and checks can be made out to JCAS Building Fund.
Race times are tracked, but no prizes are awarded so all proceeds can benefit the shelter.
The top 3 finishers in each age category will be published on the shelter Facebook page and webpage.
The shelter does not use foster homes for animals who are currently healthy and adoptable or who are on their stray hold as they need to be at the shelter for the public to meet/adopt/reclaim.
If interested, please be aware that any animal already in the foster home must be up-to-date on vaccinations and spayed or neutered. A home inspection will be completed by shelter staff and everyone in the foster home must agree to shelter guidelines.
The shelter pays for medical care and will supply food.
Applications can be picked up during business hours.
Cats and kittens are $45 off their adoption and spay/neuter fees courtesy of the shelter and theJefferson County Humane Society. Cats who are already neutered or spayed are $45 and not partof the special.
