Sugar & Spice
I'm a sweet & friendly girl who is hoping that I will be adopted now that spring is coming.
I'm looking forward to long walks and playing outside.
I have a lot of energy and need lots of exercise, walks, or playtime.
Pretend that I'm a puppy and then treat me like one even though I'm an adult Labrador Retriever mix.
I need basic training...how to walk nicely on leash, not jumping on people, sit, stay, etc.
Stock up on the treats! They really get my attention.
I like both cats and other dogs.
However, the staff has found that I resource guard and they are working with me on that.
That means I don't like anyone near my food or toys.
It's something that started here at the shelter, so hopefully it will be easy to correct when I'm home.
Ask the staff for updates and details on how to manage it and work with me to correct it.
I'm 2- to 3-years-old, weigh 41 lbs, and was found with Spice.
I'm mostly black, but have a white goatee, white tips on my toes, and of course the Labrador white patch on my chest.
I'm $30 off my adoption & spay fees to help me get a home.
I'm a sweet & friendly girl who is looking forward to being adopted now that spring is around the corner.
I'm energetic and need someone who will take me outside for walks or runs. I enjoy having lots of play time.
I'm learning lots of new things here.
The staff has especially helped me learn to sit and not to jump up on people.
But sometimes I just get so excited to see you and forget what I've learned!
I'm very treat-oriented, so give me treats when you continue my training at home.
I like both cats and other dogs.
I am, however, cautious of some men that walk past my kennel.
I was found with Sugar.
I'm a 2- to 3-year-old, Shepherd mix who weighs 49 lbs. and has a bobbed tail now.
I'm tan with the Shepherd black on my muzzle and around my eyes.

The shelter does not use foster homes for animals who are currently healthy and adoptable or who are on their stray hold as they need to be at the shelter for the public to meet/adopt/reclaim.
If interested, please be aware that any animal already in the foster home must be up-to-date on vaccinations and spayed or neutered. A home inspection will be completed by shelter staff and everyone in the foster home must agree to shelter guidelines.
The shelter pays for medical care and will supply food.
Applications can be picked up during business hours.
Cats and kittens are $45 off their adoption and spay/neuter fees courtesy of the shelter and the Jefferson County Humane Society. Cats who are already neutered or spayed are $45 and not part of the special.
