Single vehicle accident

On January 1, 2020, at approximately 11:10 p.m., the Jefferson County Central Dispatch received a report of a single vehicle accident in the 11000 block of West State Road 56. Jefferson County Sheriff Deputies and Hanover Fire Department responded to the accident scene. Jerry L. Monday, age 62, of Yazoo City, Mississippi was partially ejected and trapped under the truck. Fuel leaking from the vehicle ignited and engulfed the 1999 Ford F-250. Monday was pronounced dead at the accident scene by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.
At scene investigation shows that the vehicle was traveling east bound on State Road 56. For an undetermined reason the vehicle crossed left of center of the roadway and left the roadway. The vehicle came to rest of the passenger side of the truck and the trailer that was being towed was inverted.

Last night at approximately 11:10 p.m., the Jefferson County Central Dispatch received a report of a single vehicle accident in the 11000 block of West State Road 56.
Jefferson County Sheriff Deputies responded to the accident scene.
The single occupant of the passenger truck sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the accident.
The JCSO was assisted by Hanover Fire Department, Jefferson County Coroner's Office, and Indiana State Police.
More will be released after investigation and the family is contacted.
