Lexington Man Goes to Jail for Threatening Judge

Keown is in the Scott County Jail and is awaiting his first court appearance.

(Scott County, Ind.) - On May 25, the Scott County Sheriff's Office was contacted by the Scott County Circuit Court in reference to threats being made towards a Scott County Judicial Officer.

Deputies learned that 34-year-old Mitchell Keown was making treats during a court hearing via Zoom. Following an investigation by First Sergeant John Hartman, a case was prepared and presented to the Scott County Prosecutor's Office.   

After reviewing the information an arrest warrant was issued for Keown.

Keown was arrested on the charges of an outstanding arrest warrant for Intimidation-Deadly Weapon, Judge, Bailiff or Prosecuting Attorney. Keown is in the Scott County Jail and is awaiting his first court appearance.
