Law Enforcement cooperation ends in three jailed on drug charges

SERVICE OF ARREST WARRANT LED TO ARREST OF INDIVIDUALS

On January 18, 2023, Deputy Shawn Garner along with Madison Police Department Patrolman Trent Smith and Patrolman Cameron Blankenship responded to the 7000 block of North 1000 West in Commisky.

Officers had information that a subject with a felony arrest warrant was at the location. When officers arrived they saw the subject inside an open door. He exited the residence and appeared to be heading to a vehicle.

The wanted subject was taken into custody. Others were believed to be present inside the residence. Due to the unknown of individuals in the house while officers completed their business a sweep of the house was conducted for officer safety.

Methamphetamine was located in plain view in the residence.

Patrolman Blankenship applied for and was granted a search warrant for the residence. A search of the residence resulted in approximately 9 grams of methamphetamine being located. As well as several items of narcotics paraphernalia.

Three individuals were remanded to the custody of the Jefferson County Jail on the following charges:

A 29-year-old Male: BILLY RANDALL MCCARTY 

Felony failure to appear warrant for possession of Methamphetamine

Possession of Methamphetamine (Level 6 Felony)

A 40-year-old Male: TIMOTHY EVERETT HANCOCK 

Possession of Methamphetamine (Level 6 Felony)

Maintaining a Common Nuisance (Level 6 Felony)

A 37-year-old Female : MORIA MAE GRIGSBY 

Visiting a Common Nuisance with a prior Conviction (Level 6 Felony)

Sheriff Flint’s statement:
