The Kentucky State Police at Post 5 in Campbellsburg is reminding the public of an upcoming Citizen’s Police Academy beginning on Monday, September 24th, 2018. This learning opportunity will provide those in the class with an in depth look at the multiple aspects of the Kentucky State Police as well as an opportunity to interact with the Troopers that work the local communities.
The classes will be held at Post 5 each Monday night from 5:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and will last approximately 11 weeks. Each week will cover a different subject matter arraying from criminal investigations and forensics to traffic stops and patrolling. Participants will be given the opportunity to learn about these topics in the classroom and then have some practical exercise scenarios to further their education and understanding. In addition, each student will be given the opportunity to participate in a ride-along with a Trooper as part of the course curriculum.

Applications for the class are available at Kentucky State Police Post 5 located at 160 Citation Lane, Campbellsburg, KY 40014. In addition, applications can be obtained electronically by visiting the KSP Post 5 Campbellsburg page on the Kentucky State Police website. Applicants for the class must be at least 18 years old and have no prior felony convictions. Applicants do not have to reside within the Post 5 area. The course is limited to 25 participants.
