Kentucky State Police Make Arrest in Shooting Investigation

Altercation led to Shooting

CAMPBELLSBURG, KY. (August 21, 2021) –On Saturday August 21, 2021 at approximately 8:31 am Kentucky State Police Post 5 in Campbellsburg received a 911 call concerning a male with a gunshot wound on Bethlehem Road in Bethlehem Kentucky.  Kentucky State Police Troopers as well as The Henry County Sheriff's Office and Henry County EMS responded to the scene. 

Upon arrival it was discovered that the victim, Benjamin Wilson, a 56 year old male from Bethlehem Kentucky, had suffered a single gunshot wound to the shoulder as a result of a physical altercation between himself and Justin Slater, a 28 year male from Bethlehem Kentucky.

Justin Slater was located at his residence where he was arrested without further incident. Mr. Slater was charged with Attempted Murder and Theft of a firearm.  Mr. Wilson was transported to the hospital for treatment.  The investigation is ongoing and being conducted by Kentucky State Police Post 5 detectives. 

The Kentucky State Police were assisted on scene by the Henry County Sheriff's Office, Henry County EMS and Air Evac.
