Kentucky State Police Investigate Death at Carroll County Detention Center

CAMPBELLSBURG, Ky. (03/08/2023) – On Tuesday March 07, 2023 Kentucky State Police Post 5 in Campbellsburg received a call from the Carroll County Detention Center at approximately 7:42 pm in reference to an unconscious male inmate.  Kentucky State Police Post 5 troopers and detectives responded to the scene.

The male inmate, who was identified as Daniel Hoskins, was transported by Carroll County EMS to the Carroll County Memorial Hospital.  Mr. Hoskins was pronounced deceased at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital later the same night. 

An autopsy was scheduled for the following morning. The results are pending.  Next of kin has been notified.  The ongoing investigation is being conducted by Kentucky State Police Post 5.

The Kentucky State Police was assisted by the Carroll County EMS, and the Carroll County Coroner.
