Kentucky State Police Investigating a Fatal Collision in Trimble County

Bedford, Ky. (05/02/2022) –On Monday May 2, 2022 Kentucky State Police Post 5 in Campbellsburg received a 911 call at approximately 4:54 p.m. in reference to a two(2) vehicle collision on Martini Lane in Bedford.  Kentucky State Police Troopers and other first responders were dispatched to the scene.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a motorcycle being operated by Austin Barringer, a 30 year old male of Bedford, was traveling east on Martini Lane,  A Ford pickup truck was traveling west.  The motorcycle crossed the center of the roadway into the path of travel of the pickup.  The vehicles collided head on.  Mr. Barringer succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene by the coroners office.  The operator of the Ford pickup truck, Steven Readings a 41 year old male of Smithfield, was not injured. 

The investigation is ongoing and being conducted by Kentucky State Police Post 5.  The State Police were assisted on scene by Bedford Fire Department, Campbellsburg Fire Department, Henry County Coroner, Henry County EMS, Trimble County EMS, and the Trimble County Sheriff's Office,
