Kentucky State Police Investigate Fatal Collision in Gallatin County

Crash remains under investigation

                              

GALLATIN COUNTY, Ky. (08/22/2023) – On Monday August 21, 2023 at approximately 4:04 pm Gallatin County dispatch received a 911 call in reference to a two vehicle collision on US 42 near the 1800 block involving a passenger car and a motorcycle. 

Gallatin County units responded and requested assistance from Kentucky State Police Post 5.  The operator of the motorcycle was deceased.  The operator was identified as Dylan Rudder a 30 year old male of Crestwood. 

The preliminary investigation indicates a 2021 Harley Davidson operated by Mr. Rudder was traveling westbound on US 42 overtaking another vehicle when it struck a pickup truck traveling eastbound head on. 

The Gallatin County Coroner responded to the scene and pronounced Mr. Rudder deceased.  Next of kin has been notified.  This is an ongoing investigation being conducted by Kentucky State Police Post 5.
