Kentucky State Police Charge State Correctional Officer with Alcohol Intoxication and Official Misconduct

LAGRANGE, Ky. (07/01/2022) –On Friday, July 1, 2022, at approximately 11:58 pm, Kentucky State Police Post 5 in Campbellsburg received a call from Kentucky State Reformatory in Lagrange in reference to an employee arriving for their assigned shift while suspected of being under the influence of alcohol. 

A Trooper with Kentucky State Police Post 5 was dispatched and conducted an investigation.  The preliminary investigation determined an on-duty correction officer arrived on the property of the State Reformatory and confirmed the employee was under the influence of alcohol.  The employee was identified as Amos Jeffery a 42-year-old male from Louisville.

Jeffery was arrested and charged with Alcohol Intoxication in a public place and Official Misconduct 2nd degree.  He was transported to the Oldham County Detention Center. 

The Investigation remains ongoing and is being conducted by Kentucky State Police Post 5.
