The Kentucky Flight Training Center out of Louisville, will start offering flight training at the Madison Municipal Airport.
Private Pilot
The Private Pilot Certificate, internationally referred to as the Private Pilot License (PPL), allows students to obtain the foundational knowledge and skills for all future aircraft pilot training. As a Private Pilot, you can fly an airplane day and night in visual flight conditions and carry passengers (friends, family, co-workers, etc.). You cannot fly for paid compensation or hire. However, you can share the operating expenses with your passengers.
Requirements: -Be at least 16 Years Old to Solo
-Must be 17 Years Old to earn Certificate -Read, speak, write, and understand English -Able to obtain an FAA 3rd Class Medical
Minimum Flight Time to Complete
40 Hours*
Instrument Pilot
The Instrument Pilot Course is designed to teach pilots to operate aircraft in low-visibility environments, such as heavy cloud cover or heavy rain. The flight lessons in the course provide pilots the knowledge to rely solely on instruments to navigate the aircraft in situations where they cannot rely on visual instincts.
Requirements:
-Must be 17 Years Old to earn Certificate
-Hold at least a current Private Pilot Certificate
-Read, speak, write, and understand English
-Hold a current 3rd Class FAA Medical or FAA Basic Med

35 Hours*
Commercial Pilot
The FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate, internationally referred to as Commercial Pilot License (CPL) qualifies pilots to be financially compensated for piloting an aircraft. Unlike the Private Pilot Certificate, which is designed for recreational use and only permits the licensed pilot to share the cost of the flight, a CPL is the key to earning money through your service as an aircraft pilot.
Requirements:
-Must be 18 Years Old to earn certificate
-Hold at least a current Private Pilot Certificate
-Read, speak, write, and understand English
-Hold a current 2nd Class FAA Medical
Minimum Flight Hours Required
-FAA Minimum Hours Required for CPL is 250 Hours*
Flight Instructor
As a Certificated Flight Instructor, you will gain the qualifications to teach Private Pilot and Commercial Single-Engine students.
Requirements:
-Must be 18 Years Old to earn certificate
-Hold at least a Commercial Pilot License and Instrument Rating
-Read, speak, write, and understand English
-Hold a current 2nd Class Medical or Basic Med
