Kentucky Department of Education Releases New Guidance Regarding Student Masks

Masks are also required for all staff while they are inside of the building as well.

(Frankfort, Ky.) – The Kentucky Department of Education has released new guidance regarding masks.

The new guidance states that all students who are enrolled in first grade and above should be required to wear a cloth face-covering unless medically waivered.

These masks should be worn in the building, and while on the busses. Masks should not be lowered during the school day, even if all students and staff are seated 6 feet apart. Masks should only be lowered when actively eating or drinking.

Masks are also required for all staff while they are inside of the building as well.

All masks must cover your mouth and nose, should fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face, include multiple layers of fabric, and should be laundered and machine dried without damage or change to shape.
