(Boone County, Ky.) – On Wednesday, Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron filed a motion in an effort to block all of Governor Beshear’s COVID-19 orders.
This motion filed in Boone County Circuit Court was issued after a Boone County Judge issued a restraining order against Beshear’s public health orders related to auto racetracks and daycare centers.
The judge's ruling allows auto racetracks to operate at 50 percent capacity and daycares to have a maximum group size of 28. Where Beshear ordered no fans at racetracks and group sizes of 10 at daycare centers.
AG Cameron called Beshear’s actions “arbitrary and in violation of Kentuckian’ constitutional rights.”
On Thursday, after a lengthy hearing in the Boone County Circuit Court, a judge blocked Beshear’s COVID-19 executive orders on racetracks, childcare, and restaurants.
“This ruling provides much-needed relief to Kentucky businesses that joined us in challenging the Governor’s notion that he has absolute power apart from the law,” said Cameron. This ruling does not hamper the ability of public health officials to ensure the safety and well-being of Kentuckians.”
Governor Beshear has yet to make a public comment on the judge’s decision.
