Kentucky Attorney General Andy Beshear files suit against governor, lawmakers on pension reform

Bevin signed SB 151 into law Tuesday

Kentucky Attorney General Andy Beshear has filed a lawsuit following the signing of Senate Bill 151 which is an attempt to reform pensions.

The Kentucky Education Association and the Kentucky State Lodge Fraternal Order of Police joined Beshear in the lawsuit.

Beshear held a news conference to discuss the lawsuit. He had previously threatened to file suit after lawmakers pass the bill.

Defendants in the case are Gov. Matt Bevin, Republican House and Senate leadership, the Board of Trustees of the Teachers' Retirement System and the Board of Trustees of the Kentucky Retirement Systems.

Bevin signed SB 151 into law Tuesday.
