Jennings Co. Man Arrested On Child Solicitation Charges

(Jennings County, Ind.) – On January 31, 2021, the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office was contacted in reference to a report concerning a possible Child Solicitation case that occurred in the county.

A report was made after a social media post from a “predator patrol” group stated that Wayne Denney Jr. of Jennings County has made sexual references to a child he believed to be a 15-year-old girl.

All possible evidence was turned over to the sheriff’s office, jurisdiction was then established, and an investigation was immediately initiated.

On February 2, Jennings County Detective Sergeant Jeff Jones and Sergeant Allen Ritchie interviewed Mr. Denney was subsequently arrested and booked into the Jennings County Jail on one count of Child Solicitation (level 4 felony).

Denney is currently being held in the Jennings County Jail without bond.
