Jefferson County Treasurer: Property Taxes Due Tomorrow

The Treasures office asking residents to make sure they check their envelopes for multiple bills.

(Madison, Ind.) – The Jefferson County Clerks office has announced that property taxes are due tomorrow Tuesday, November 10.

Due to COVID-19, the treasures office is asking that only one person at a time comes to the counter to be helped and that everybody maintains social distancing.

to avoid long lines, the treasures office is asking residents to take advantage of their payment options which are as follows:

  • German American Bank and Farmer’s Bank (Drive-thru only)
    • Residents must have a tax statement with you to pay
  • Mail to: Jefferson County Treasurer  PO BOX 99, Madison, Indiana 47250  or   Jefferson County Treasurer  300 E Main Street, Madison, Indiana 47250
  • Drop Box located on the front of the Courthouse (No Cash)
  • Jefferson County Website, pay by credit card or e-check
    • Credit Card: an additional 2.5% added to the total charge
    • E-check: $1.00 will be added, per parcel

If you are paying by check, you are asked to make your check payable to the Jefferson County Treasurer. It is also asked to include a phone number on your check if it is not already noted on the check.

The Treasures office asking residents to make sure they check their envelopes for multiple bills, if you own more than one parcel, your bills may be placed in the same envelope.
