Jefferson County Ranked 39th For Unemployment In State Of Indiana

Jefferson County's unemployment was lower than that of the state which is 11.1 percent.

(Indianapolis, Ind.) – The Indiana Department of Workforce Development released the breakdown of unemployment by county today.

For the month of June, Jefferson County saw a decrease in unemployment with 10.4 percent. In the month of May, Jefferson County had an unemployment percentage of 14.6.

As the numbers continue to drop, Jefferson County has been ranked number 39 for unemployment out of all 92 Indiana counties. The unemployment rate in Jefferson County was lower than that of the state which is 11.1 percent.

  • Jennings County
    • Ranked 37 with 10.5 percent unemployment
  • Scott County
    • Ranked 11 with 12.8 percent unemployment
  • Switzerland County
    • Ranked 6 with 15.1 percent unemployment
