Money will not be available till early next year

The Indiana General Assembly approved Gov. Eric Holcomb’s plan to improve health outcomes of Hoosiers by providing more resources and better delivery of service. A total of $225 million has been earmarked to directly go toward public health departments that opt-in to the local/state partnership to offer core public health services.
The amount that will come to Jefferson County won’t be determined until it’s known how many counties opt-in since the $225 million will divided among the number of counties that participate. Commissioner David Bramer said the deadline for counties to opt-in is Sept. 1, so the funds should come to the county after the first of year.
