Jefferson County Moves To Yellow Advisory On State Metric Map

Social gatherings or events of any kind, make take place with a limit of 100 individuals.

(Madison, Ind.) - Jefferson County will move from an “ORANGE” advisory to “YELLOW” advisory today, February 24, 2021, at noon on the Indiana Department of Health County Metric Dashboard map. “YELLOW” advisory means the county is seeing moderate community spread. Now that we have remained at a “YELLOW” advisory for two consecutive weeks, we may follow “YELLOW” regulations.

“YELLOW” advisory regulations per executive order 21-02:

Social gatherings or events of any kind, make take place with a limit of 100 individuals. 50% of a facility’s capacity may be permitted with a submitted safety plan approved by the Jefferson County Health Department. Attendees must be social distanced and wear face coverings.

All business capacity must adhere to strict social distancing guidelines, curbside pickup is preferred. All businesses are required to place clearly visible signage at their public and employee entrances notifying all that face coverings are required. Businesses should only admit those who wear face coverings properly (over nose and mouth) and practice social distancing.

Community recreational sports leagues and tournaments may continue but attendance is limited to 100 individuals. 50% of facility’s capacity may be permitted with a submitted safety plan approved by the Jefferson County Health Department (school may institute stricter regulations) All students and attendees must be social distanced and wear face coverings.

All general requirements are still in effect such as

  • Mask wearing
  • Social distancing
  • Hand sanitizing/washing

Vulnerable populations should remain isolated.
