The vulnerable populations should remain isolated, and Senior Center activities are suspended.
(Madison, Ind.) – The Jefferson County Health Department has been notified by the Indiana Department of Health that Jefferson County will move from an “orange” advisory to a “Red” advisory beginning today January 6, 2021.
The “red” advisory means that the county is seeing the highest amount of community spread. The health department stated that this is not unexpected as the county has seen our positive cases raise over the past few weeks.
Red advisory regulations per executive order 20-53 are that social gatherings of any kind are limited to 25 people. All other general requirements are still in effect such as mask-wearing, social distancing, and hand sanitizing/washing.
The vulnerable populations should remain isolated, and Senior Center activities are suspended.
All businesses must adhere to the strict social distancing guidelines, curbside pick up is preferred. All businesses are also required to place clearly visible signage at their public and employee entrances notifying all that face coverings are required.
Businesses should only admit those who wear face coverings properly (over nose and mouth) and practice social distancing.
Community recreational sports leagues and tournaments may continue with participants, required personnel, and parents/guardians and their minor children only. (Sports leagues may institute stricter regulations)
K-12 extracurricular and co-curricular activities may continue but attendance is limited to participants, support personnel, and parent/guardian plus the minor children (school may institute stricter regulations). All students and attendees must be socially distanced and wear face coverings.
