Jefferson County Health Officers Mandating For All Non-Essential Businesses to Close

(Jefferson County, Ind.) - In an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19, John Hossler, M.D., Jefferson County Health Officer along with Governor Holcomb, does hereby mandate for all non-essential retail services to close walk-in services to the public.

This includes but may not be limited to:

• Automobile dealerships (other than service center)

• Beauty salons

• Nail salons

• Fitness Centers/gyms

• Retail clothing and shoe stores

• Electronics and appliance stores (with exception to service)

• Florist

• Furniture stores

• Cosmetic stores

• Sporting goods stores

• Music stores

• Jewelry stores

• Book stores

• Tattoo parlors

• Office supply/stationary/gift shops

• Libraries

Exemptions to this rule are as follows:

• Daycare centers

• Auto and appliance repair services

• Car rental

• Home and garden supply dealers

• Bank and financial institutions

• Grocery and markets

• Gas stations

• Liquor stores

• Pharmacies

• Supercenters and pet store supplies

• Curbside and carryout food service

All non-essential retail services shall remain closed from midnight March 24, 2020, until midnight April 6, 2020, unless it is extended. Thank you for your cooperation and patient during this public health crisis.
