Flu shots now available
[Madison, IN] – Flu: The Jefferson County Health Department is now scheduling appointments for seasonal influenza vaccine to eligible recipients. Appointments can be scheduled on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. by calling 812-273-1942. Please have insurance information ready when calling to make an appointment.
RSV: In the best interest of being good stewards of our resources, the Jefferson County Health Department will not be administering the Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) vaccination. However, vaccine should be available in retail pharmacies. We suggest calling your preferred pharmacy to verify. Recommendations for adult RSV vaccination are individually-based on an informed decision process between the health care provider and patient based on best available evidence, patient’s risk for disease, clinical discretion, and characteristics of the vaccine.
Covid-19: The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices is meeting today (September 12th) to review data and provide a recommendation on the newest Covid-19 vaccine. After a decision is made, the Indiana Department of Health receives their allocation from the federal level, and private companies open up their ordering processes, the hope is for the Jefferson County Health Department to begin administering those by the end of the month. If you have any further questions you may contact the Jefferson County Health Department at 812-273-1942
