Jefferson Co. Moves To Yellow Category On ISDH COVID Map

Community spread is defined as experiencing positive cases who have had no known contact with a positive case.

(Madison, Ind.) - Jefferson County’s current COVID positive case count stands at 320 at the time of this press release. The Indiana State Department of Health dashboard www.coronavirus.in.gov updates daily at noon. Cases that are received early in the day or late the previous day are not always captured on the dashboard.

Our current 7-day positivity rate is 7.3% for all tests and 13.8% for unique individuals. Our county metrics increased from .5 to 1.5 this week, putting us in the yellow category which means moderate community spread. Community spread is defined as experiencing positive cases who have had no known contact with a positive case.

Contact tracing has been and continues to be conducted by Jefferson County Health Department staff and Indiana Department of Health contact tracers.

We are urging Jefferson County residents and visitors to please remain vigilant and help us SMASH COVID-19.

  • Mask up indoor public spaces regardless of social distancing and outdoor public spaces if social distancing cannot be achieved.
  • Avoid large crowds (indoors and outdoors)
