(Scott County, Ind.) - In late April, Detective Jacklyn Shofner received a complaint from the Department of Child Services (DCS) about an alleged battery against two children.
An immediate investigation began and the children were places into protective custody.
As the investigation proceeded, Detective Shofner worked with the Scott County Prosecutor's Office to obtain search warrants. Numerous interviews were also conducted while working with DCS and the Scott County Prosecutor's Office.
Today, an arrest warrant was issued out of Scott County Circuit Court for Christopher Jourden,33, of Lexington Ind. Jourden was charged with the following:
- Two counts of Battery Resulting in Bodily Injury to a Person Less Than 14 Years of Age (Level 5 Felony),
- Battery Resulting in Bodily Injury to a Person Less Than 14 Years of Age (Level 6 Felony),
- Obstruction of Justice (Level 6 Felony), and
- Possession of Paraphernalia (Misdemeanor).
Jourden was arrested by Scott County Deputies and is incarcerated in the Scott County Jail.
