I-71 SB In Gallatin Co. Closed 12-Hours Thursday

Several accidents

Interstate 71 southbound in Gallatin County was closed for more than 12 hours Thursday as crews worked to clean up a hazmat spill caused by a crash.

The crash occurred on I-75 southbound near the 69-mile marker, past the Verona exit, at about 2:30 a.m., according to Gallatin County emergency dispatchers.

That crashed caused several others.

The road reopened at about 5 p.m.

Information about exactly what hazardous materials were involved wasn't immediately available.
