Human Remains Discovered Under Abandoned Home By Dog

Abandoned mobile home near Highway 227 in Worthville

Police in Carroll Co. have launched an investigation after human bones were recovered yesterday under an abandoned mobile home near Highway 227 in Worthville.

The Carroll County Coroner, David Wilhoite has confirmed that bones found are human remains.

Wilhoite said he and the Sheriff's office will be back out to the trailer on Thursday to investigate further.

Neighbors said no one had been there in quite sometime. One day a neighbors dog was wondering around the area, he returned home with what looked like a skull in his mouth.

His owner, Tammy Sculley, says her dog dropped the skull, ran back to the abandoned home, and retrieved another partial skull.

Sculley took the remains to the sheriff's office.

"They are definitely human remains," Sculley said. "They was confirmed. That is the only reason they came out."

It's not known at this point how long the bones have been near the home or how the people died.
