Hoosiers can now take legislative survey ahead of the 2025 session

Deadline to submit is December 31st

STATEHOUSE (Dec. 19, 2024) – With the next legislative session quickly approaching, local lawmakers encourage Hoosiers to take their online surveys and offer feedback on important issues.

To start, Hoosiers should visit their state representative's webpage and click on the "Take My Survey" button.

Jefferson County representatives' webpages include:

  • State Rep. Alex Zimmerman (R-North Vernon), House District 67, in.gov/h67;
  • State Rep. Zach Payne (R-Charlestown), House District 66, in.gov/h66; or
  • State Rep. Garrett Bascom (R-Lawrenceburg), House District 68, in.gov/h68.

"To represent Hoosiers at the Statehouse, it is really helpful to have feedback from constituents on how they feel about certain issues," Zimmerman said. "By completing this survey, I can be a stronger advocate for House District 67 and continue to support policies that help our local communities."

To complete online surveys, Hoosiers must be a resident of the district and submit it by the Dec. 31 deadline. Constituents can check which House district they reside in by visiting the Indiana General Assembly's website at iga.in.gov, clicking on "Find Your Legislator" on the homepage and entering a home address. Constituents can also expect to receive or may have already received a copy of their state representative's survey mailer in their mailbox.

"Having feedback from my constituents can be a great help when advocating for them at the Statehouse," Payne said. "I greatly encourage anyone interested to take the time to make their voice heard."

The 2025 legislative session begins Jan. 8 and must conclude by April 29. Hoosiers can follow session proceedings at iga.in.gov, where they can find information on proposed legislation and watch livestreams of committee hearings and session.

“As a new legislator, this survey will be extremely helpful as I start my first legislative session,” Bascom said. “I encourage our community members to use this opportunity and keep in touch and share what is important to them.”

Hoosiers also can stay updated during the legislative session by signing up for their legislator's email newsletter at IndianaHouseRepublicans.com and entering their email address under "Subscribe to eNews," or by calling 317-232-9600.
